Gillibrand Statement On Oil Prices Hitting $100 A Barrel Amid Trump’s Continued Failures In Iran
Today, in response to reports that Trump’s war in Iran has again spiked oil prices to $100 a barrel and has left 18 U.S. service members dead and 820 wounded so far, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement: “Trump’s reckless war in Iran continues to hit devastating new milestones. With oil prices skyrocketing and diesel reaching new record highs every day, Americans are struggling to fill up their gas tanks and put food on their tables. Our brave troops in the Middle East continue to be harmed with no strategy to guide them, no clear objectives to reach, and no idea of when they are going home. And President Trump, instead of working to lower costs and end this war, is spending his time hosting a multi-day tribute to himself. It’s an absolute disgrace. American families and service members deserve better than the embarrassment that is the Trump administration.” ###
