USDA Opens Applications for Economic Assistance Sen. Ossoff Helped Secure for Georgia Farmers

Atlanta, Ga. –This week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced it has opened applications for economic aid to farmers that Sen. Ossoffhelpedpass into law.
Last December, Sen. Ossoffsuccessfully foughtto pass a bipartisan disaster relief package that included $10 billion in economic assistance for farmers who have struggled in recent years with difficult market conditions and rising costs.
The one-time Federal economic assistance program will be administered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) through the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program. According to USDA, FSA will soon begin sending pre-filled applications to eligible producers.
Producers must submit their applications by August 15, 2025.
Farmers and producers can submit their applications at their local FSA office or by visitingfsa.usda.gov/ecap.

Ossoff and Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08), alongside Georgia’s entire Congressional Delegation,led a bipartisan, bicameral group of 34 lawmakersfrom Southeastern states urging Congressional Leadership to ensure disaster relief resources are made available to agricultural producers following the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene.
