Senator Kim Statement Supporting Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State

WASHINGTON D.C. –Today,Senator Andy Kimreleased the following statement on the confirmation of Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) as United States Secretary of State.
“Senator Rubio’s qualifications and dedication to serving our country has earned him my vote to be our next Secretary of State,”said Senator Kim. “In my conversations with Senator Rubio, we had areas of disagreement no doubt, but I found him to be well versed in the deep challenges our nation faces globally. Also, as a former career State Department officer, I urged him to respect the career staff and to work to attract talent to lead our nation’s efforts to build coalitions. I wish him well with this critical position and hope to work closely with him to strengthen American global leadership.”
Senator Kim is a member of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP); the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and the Special Committee on Aging.
