Grassley Statement on President Trump’s Day One Actions to Secure the Border, Protect Americans

WASHINGTON –Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement regarding President Trump’s executive orders to secure the border:
“Americans voted overwhelmingly for President Trump because they want safety restored throughout our nation. Today, the will of the American people was set into action. President Trump’s executive orders are an important initial step to provide security along our southern border and crack down on violent crime nationwide.
“I’m closely studying the details of every one of President Trump’s executive orders. One thing is for certain: we’re safer today than we were yesterday because President Trump is in office. At the same time, Republicans aredoing our part in Congressto help build a safer, brighter future for our country.”
