ICYMI: Cassidy-Secured Broadband Investment Moves Forward in Louisiana
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) was instrumental in securing $1.35 billion in federal broadband funding for Louisiana through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act . That investment is now helping expand high-speed internet access across the state. Louisiana was the first state in the nation to receive federal approval to deploy the funding. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry yesterday announced the first steps of progress to improving broadband access to rural Louisiana, working toward statewide high-speed internet across Louisiana by 2028. “This is exactly why I fought to make sure Louisiana received its share of broadband funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Now, we are seeing that investment in action with real projects that will connect Louisiana families, businesses, schools, and communities.” ###
