June 10, 2026 Reschenthaler Advances $200 million in FY2027 Appropriations Bills for Southwestern Pennsylvania WASHINGTON, D.C.— Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) secured $34.5 million in Community Project Funding and $167.2 million for Montgomery Lock and Dam in the Fiscal Year 2027 House Appropriations Bills. This legislation has been reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and awaits final passage in the House and Senate and enactment into law by President Trump. The funding will support critical local infrastructure and services, including road construction, water and sewer systems, law enforcement, emergency response, firefighter training, hospitals, and senior care facilities. These investments will help spur thousands of jobs in Pennsylvania. “I’m proud to deliver real results for southwestern Pennsylvania. This funding is a direct investment in our region that will grow and support family-sustaining jobs. The $34.5 million in Community Project Funding will strengthen infrastructure, support law enforcement, and improve quality of life across southwestern Pennsylvania," said Reschenthaler. "Just as important, the $167.2 million for the Montgomery Lock and Dam brings us one big step closer to completing this transformational project, which will boost commerce, create jobs, and ensure our inland waterways remain competitive for decades to come.” The Fiscal Year 2027 Appropriations Bills include funding for the following projects: $9 million for the Hempfield Community Center in Westmoreland County, PA. $3 million for the George R. Sweeny Water Treatment Plant Project in Westmoreland County, PA. $3 million for the Canonsburg Industrial Site at 2 Iron Street in Washington County, PA. $2 million for the Shamrock Heights Homebuyer Housing Development in Fayette County, PA. $2 million for the SR 3017 Cherry Run Bridge (MPMS# 78118) in Indiana County, PA. $1.8 million for the Gallatin Bank Rehabilitation in Fayette County, PA. $1.8 million for the Indiana Regional Medical Center Cardiac Catheter Lab in Indiana County, PA. $1.6 million for the Regional Emergency Services Hub in Washington County, PA. $1.3 million for the Central City Senior Center in Somerset County, PA. $945,000 for the Indiana County Jimmy Stewart Airport in Indiana County, PA. $1.1 million for the Somerset Regional Volunteer Fire Department's New Ladder Truck in Somerset County, PA. $1 million for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades in Findlay Township, PA. $1 million for the Center Township Sewer Extension Project in Greene County, PA. $922,914 for the Country Club Road Sewer Service Extension Project in Greene County, PA. $500,000 for the Westmoreland County Blight Remediation in Westmoreland County, PA. $500,000 for the UPMC Greene EMS Workforce Development in Greene County, PA. $500,000 for the UPMC Somerset Rural Emergency Department Transformation Initiative in Somerset County, PA. $500,000 for the MRI Replacement for Frick Hospital in Westmoreland County, PA. $442,000 for the Two-Way Radio Communications Upgrade Project in Westmoreland County, PA. $228,938 for the Fayette County Fire School in Fayette County, PA. The Fiscal Year 2027 Energy and Water Appropriations bill also includes $167.2 million to complete construction of Montgomery Lock and Dam. Rep. Reschenthaler has been a tireless advocate for completing the project on schedule and on budget. This funding should fund the project to completion and get the lock and dam operational as soon as possible. Reschenthaler has been instrumental in securing the more than $1.2 billion Montgomery Lock and Dam has received since the project began in Fiscal Year 2021.
