McDowell’s Bipartisan Foreign Robocall Elimination Act Passes Energy and Commerce Committee 37-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Addison McDowell’s bipartisan Foreign Robocall Elimination Act (H.R. 6152) unanimously passed the House Energy and Commerce Committee by a vote of 37-0.
The legislation brings together experts from the federal government and private sector to identify and combat illegal robocalls originating overseas.
“Today’s unanimous vote sends a clear message, these scammers need to be stopped,” Rep. Addison McDowell said. “I’m grateful to the committee for its consideration of the Foreign Robocall Elimination Act, and I look forward to getting this bill across the House floor.”
McDowell introduced the House companion to legislation led in the Senate by Senators Ted Budd (R-NC) and Peter Welch (D-VT).
The Foreign Robocall Elimination Act now advances toward consideration by the full House.
