Senator Schmitt Introduces Bill To Rename Marshfield, MO Post Office After Edwin Hubble
U.S. SENATE— U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) today introduced a bill to rename the Marshfield, Missouri, Post Office after Edwin Hubble, a renowned American scientist and astronomer. Hubble, born in Marshfield, Missouri, and for whom the Hubble Space Telescope is named, proved the existence of other galaxies and that the universe is constantly expanding. His work truly transformed our scientific understanding of space.
“Edwin Hubble was an extraordinary Missourian, and his contributions to astronomy paved the way for astronomers for generations to come. I’m proud to celebrate his legacy by renaming the Marshfield Post Office in his honor”,said Senator Schmitt.
