Senator Hassan Statement on 25th Anniversary of September 11th, 2001 Terrorist Attack

MANCHESTER — U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement on the 25th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks: “September 11th was one of the most terrible days in our country’s history, when 2,977 innocent people were taken from us in a terrorist attack rooted in evil. Every one of those victims had a world all their own. Every one of them was loved and needed. "The response that day from first responders and the millions of ordinary Americans who sprung to action, donated blood, or decided to serve reminds us that our country can be united in common purpose. Because on 9/11, we remember that, for all our differences and disagreements, we are one country, one people, and one America. “It’s been 25 years since that terrible day, and we cannot bring back those we lost, but we can become their legacy by living our lives with purpose and meaning. We won’t ever live up fully to the example of courage, bravery, and sacrifice shown by the first responders or the passengers of Flight 93, but it’s incumbent on all of us to try each and every day.” ###
