Messmer Issues Statement on the Passage of the Continuing Resolution
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Mark Messmer (R-IN) issued the following statement following the passage of the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025 : “ Today’s passage of the Continuing Resolution is a victory for Hoosiers in Indiana’s 8th Congressional District, and for all Americans, ” said Rep. Messmer. “ This bill provides a robust investment in our national defense, border security needs, air traffic control operations, and supplemental nutrition programs for women, infants, and children. I am proud to have voted in support of this critical legislation. ” The Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025 extends and expands investments in critical federal services for all Americans. Specifically, the legislation: Prevents a costly government shutdown; Fully funds core government services; Maintains government operations without increasing the spending of taxpayer dollars; Upholds responsibilities to our nation’s veterans and ensures full funding of their healthcare services and benefits; Strengthens national security investments, including the largest pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers in over 40 years; Provides critical funding for increased border security; Supports federal wildland firefighters to protect our communities and public lands; Protects Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid recipients from payment disruptions; Increases funding for air traffic control priorities; and Fully funds the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and related WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) programs, including a more than $500 million increase, to provide important assistance benefits to the most vulnerable.
