RECAP: What Senator Kim Heard at This Weekend’s Town Hall

JERSEY CITY, NJ –This weekend, Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ) held his 8th town hall, providing an update on the latest work by Republicans to gut healthcare and food assistance, and target public educational programs like NPR and PBS.Senator Kim invited Congressman Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07) to participate in the town hall, held the town hall in the Congressman’s congressional district and home town,to provide his explanation for voting for these destructive cuts; the Congressman did not attend.
“As public servants, it is our responsibility to show up for our constituents…the powerful conversations held at this town hall show that New Jersey is paying attention and those who call it home are worried about what comes next,”said Senator Kim.“In this difficult time in American history, we must continue to come together like this so we can build a future that works for everyone, not just the wealthiest few.”
