Rep. Menefee Statement on Appointment to Powerful House Oversight and Government Reform Committee

Menefee (TX-18) has been appointed to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the principal investigative committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. The committee is currently conducting oversight of the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files, federal spending, and executive branch accountability. Congressman Menefee brings substantial legal and investigative experience to the committee. Prior to his election to Congress, he served as Harris County Attorney, directing one of the largest public law offices in Texas. In that role, he oversaw complex litigation across a broad range of subject matters, including environmental enforcement, and election law. He took on cases against the Trump administration, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and multiple large corporations. Time after time, he won those battles.
