In Case You Missed It: Capito Joins Cornyn, Colleagues in Introducing Back the Blue Act

WASHINGTON, D.C.–U.S.Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) recently joined Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) and 34 of their Senate Republican colleagues in introducing theBack the Blue Act, legislation that would increase penalties for criminals who target law enforcement officers and provide new tools for officers to protect themselves.
“West Virginia’s law enforcement officers put their lives at risk every day to keep our communities safe. In return, we must do everything possible to make sure these men and women are able to carry out their work safely. That is why I’m proud to help introduce theBack the Blue Act, which implements stricter punishments for those intentionally targeting our law enforcement personnel,”Senator Capito said.
