March 11, 2025 Press Release Washington, D.C . – Today, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., delivered remarks at the House Republican Leadership Press Conference urging support of the continuing resolution and its passage on the House Floor. Remarks From Congressman Harris: “ The first question I always get asked is: “What is the Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus doing at a press conference about continuing resolutions? Well, I’ll tell you, the bottom line is that a continuing resolution is usually the first step to an omnibus bill. That’s why traditionally, the House Freedom Caucus is opposed to continuing resolutions. This continuing resolution is not. This is a continuing resolution that goes to the end of the fiscal year and therefore negates the need for any consideration of an omnibus bill. Second, this is the first continuing resolution in my fourteen years here that reduces the amount of spending while funding the military, funding Veterans, funding the Women, Infants, and Children’s program (WIC), and importantly, funding the deportation of criminal illegal aliens that are threatening our communities.
