Rep. McDonald Rivet Statement on Extreme Government Funding Bill
WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) released the following statement after voting against this evening’s government funding bill.
“I stand with my district, so there’s no way I could support something so dangerous for working families and seniors. This bill would strip away funding for law enforcement, veterans care, child care, infrastructure repairs, and more in mid-Michigan,” said Congresswoman McDonald Rivet . “It also leaves Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid completely vulnerable on Elon Musk’s chopping block, even as he targets one of our district's Social Security offices for closure. Instead of passing a package that hurts communities like mid-Michigan, we should pass a budget which lowers costs and prioritizes working people.”
