Sen. Ossoff Working Across the Aisle to Reduce Georgia’s Health Care Worker Shortage

Washington, D.C.— U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working with Republicans and Democrats to reduce Georgia’s health care worker shortage.
Sen. Ossoff recently cosponsored the bipartisanStates Handling Access to Reciprocity for Employment (SHARE) Act of 2025to help reduce Georgia’s shortage of health care workers.
The bipartisan bill, led by Sens. Peter Welch (D-VT) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), would simplify the existing multistate license application process that often hinders the hiring of health care professionals during critical national shortages.
“With the growing list of challenges Georgia’s rural hospitals face, including staff shortages, this bipartisan legislation will allow more health care workers to work in hospitals by streamlining the complex process of securing a multistate license,”Sen. Ossoff said.
Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen Georgia’s health care system.
In December, Sen. Ossoffcosponsoredthe bipartisanAccelerating Kids’ Access toCareActwhich would streamline the process for pediatric providers to enroll in another state’s Medicaid program if they meet certain requirements so they can provide care to children with complex needs, regardless of where the child lives and where the care is received.
In July, Sen. Ossoffcosponsoredthe bipartisanRural Hospital Cybersecurity Enhancement Actto create new strategy and training resources to boost the number of cybersecurity and digital security professionals in rural hospitals across Georgia and nationwide.
