Hoeven Supports Legislation to Withhold Senators’ Pay During Government Shutdowns

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven issued the following statement after the Senate approved a resolution to withhold the pay of all senators during government shutdowns. “There have been too many government shutdowns over the last few years where Americans, including our military members, federal law enforcement officials, air traffic controllers, TSA agents, and others have not been paid on time for their work. When hardworking Americans are missing their paychecks, senators should not be paid either and this resolution makes that clear,” said Hoeven. -###-
