March 11, 2025 Press Release Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) issued the following statement after voting against House Republicans’ partisan funding bill: “Today, I voted against the Republicans’ slush fund that enables DOGE and Elon Musk to keep ripping off Oregonians. This legislation gives Elon Musk unlimited power to continue stealing from working families and small businesses, while doing nothing to protect Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security from being totally gutted in the future. If that isn’t bad enough, the Republicans’ partisan funding bill also makes drastic cuts to everything from health care for veterans who were exposed to toxic substances, to broadband internet and food assistance for our rural communities, to cancer and Alzheimer's research, and so much more. President Trump, Elon Musk, and Republicans in Congress are actively scamming the American people out of the services they have paid into and deserve – and I refuse to be complicit.
