Rep. Robin Kelly Votes No on Partisan Funding Bill

Robin Kelly (IL-02) released the following statement after the U.S. House passed its partisan funding bill. “House Republicans just gave a blank check to President Donald Trump and Elon Musk to take money away from the American people and spend as they will. The Republican funding bill spits on our Constitutional-given power of the purse and hands spending power over to the Executive Branch. President Trump’s agenda abandons the American people – it takes away people’s healthcare, stops research for gun violence prevention, reallocates funding from maternal health programs, evicts thousands from their homes and cuts nearly $23 billion in veterans’ benefits. Meanwhile, the funding bill does absolutely nothing to lower costs of living, such as grocery prices, housing, or prescription drugs. President Trump and Elon Musk claim to do everything in the name of efficiency – but it’s clear they have no problem lining the pockets of their wealthy friends while stealing tax dollars from the rest of us.” Rep.
