Ricketts Discusses Future of US-China Competition at Hudson Institute

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) joined the Hudson Institute for a conversation on the future of US-China competition.  The discussion highlighted Ricketts’ efforts to ensure U.S. leadership in the global tech race, protect American agriculture against China’s malign actions, and strengthen our national security. **Click here or above to watch Senator Ricketts’ conversation.** Ricketts has long championed efforts to maintain U.S. leadership and protect Americans against Communist China: He introduced the MATCH Act to ensure adversaries – like the CCP – cannot buy critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment from the U.S. or our allies. In 2025, he introduced the PORCUPINE Act to streamline arms sales to Taiwan.  Supporting our partner Taiwan is key to preventing future conflicts between the U.S. and China. To combat Chinese ownership on American farmland, he introduced the PLOT Act and the AFIDA Improvements Act . Earlier this year, he introduced the MARKET Act to protect American agricultural exports from Communist China’s unfair trade practices and determine alternative markets for American agricultural exports.
