Mrvan Statement on FEMA Emergency Declaration Approval

August 17, 2026 Press Release Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan released the statement below following the approval by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of Indiana’s emergency declaration request. “On behalf of the residents of Indiana’s First Congressional District, I thank the Administration for its prompt approval of Indiana’s request for a federal emergency declaration.  This assistance will provide critical resources to communities across Northwest Indiana as they recover from the devastating impact of severe weather, flooding, and tornadoes. “My office will continue working with federal, state, and local officials to secure every available resource to support residents, families, and communities affected by these storms. “Residents who have suffered damage are encouraged to report it through Indiana 211 at 866-211-9966.  My office will continue to provide updates as additional federal assistance becomes available.” ### Issues : Appropriations & Federal Funding
