Sen. Ossoff Working Across the Aisle to Bolster Georgia’s Economic Development

Washington, D.C.— U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to bolster American manufacturing and economic development.
Sen. Ossoff recently cosponsored bipartisan legislation aimed at creating more manufacturing jobs in Georgia and nationwide.
The bipartisanCritical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act, first introduced by Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE), would require the U.S. Department of Commerce to conduct a study analyzing the feasibility of manufacturing critical infrastructure in the United States instead of importing them.
“We have become heavily dependent upon overseas supply chains, leaving us vulnerable to increased cybersecurity risks and price fluctuations,”Sen. Ossoff said.“This bipartisan bill will take steps to mitigate those risks, while helping open the door to new manufacturing jobs in Georgia and across the nation.”
Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen Georgia’s manufacturing and economic development.
In May, Sen. Ossoffcosponsoredthe bipartisanSimplifying Subcontracting Act, which would simplify the process for small businesses to win Federal contracts.
Last year, Sen. Ossoff delivered$75 millionin Federal funding through the bipartisanCHIPS Actto Absolics to strengthen domestic semiconductor production in Covington.
Also last year, Sen. Ossoff introduced his bipartisanAmerican Tax Dollars for American Solar Manufacturing Actto prevent Chinese companies from using tax credits intended to benefit American solar manufacturing companies.
In 2023, alongside Senator Reverend Warnock and Congressman Sanford Bishop (GA-02), Sen. Ossoffhelped delivera historic $80 million Federal grant to Blue Bird to expand its manufacturing facilities and to help build electric school buses.
In 2022, Sen. Ossoff’s landmark legislation to establish an expanded solar manufacturing tax credit wassigned into lawas part of theInflation Reduction Actto supercharge domestic solar energy manufacturing & strengthen American energy independence.
