Instead of working to expand access to the ballot and make it easier for Coloradans to vote, Trump and his appointees have focused on dismantling mail-in voting – a core part of Colorado’s electoral system that both Democrats, Republicans and unaffiliated voters strongly support. “Colorado has spent years building one of the most secure, accessible, and trusted election systems in the country. We are not going to let Trump and his allies undermine it for their own political purposes. “Only the states and Congress can change the electoral process. I will continue to fight hard to ensure this rule does not go into effect, and that Coloradans can continue to vote-by-mail as they have for years.” Bennet has consistently fought against Republicans’ blatant efforts to undermine federal elections. In April 2026, Bennet joined Senators John Hickenlooper, Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), and 35 of their colleagues to introduce the Mail and Absentee Voter Protection Act to block President Trump’s illegal and unconstitutional executive order that attacks Coloradans’ ability to cast mail-in ballots. In March 2026, Bennet condemned the SAVE America Act on the Senate floor and called out President Trump for holding the Senate hostage to pass this legislation. In April 2025, he spoke on the Senate floor , calling out the SAVE Act that would make it harder for millions of American citizens to register and exercise their right to vote, including women and voters in rural communities across the country. In February 2025, Bennet slammed Trump for sowing distrust in elections. In July 2023, Bennet and his Democratic colleagues introduced the Freedom to Vote Act to improve Americans’ access to the ballot, invest in state election infrastructure, strengthen campaign finance disclosure requirements, and ensure our elections are free from interference. ### Contact Info 261 Russell Senate Building Washington, DC 20510 Phone: 202-224-5852 Fax: 202-228-5097 View State Offices Resources Write to Michael Get Help with a Federal Agency Visiting DC Investing in Colorado Map ©2026 U.S. Senate.
