Moreno Joins President Trump for Announcement on Auto Affordability

WASHINGTON –Today, Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) joined President Trump, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Director of the National Economic Council Kevin Hassett, Republican members of Congress, and executives from Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis to discuss the reversal of Biden-era fuel standards to save $109 billion for families across the country.
“Because of your policies, at the beginning of the year, 51 percent of the cars sold in America were made in America. 51 percent before you got sworn in,”said Senator Moreno.“Last month, that number was 57 percent. We moved it six points, which nobody thought would be possible in four years, we did it in ten months. That is something that maybe the news should cover a little bit more. We’ve driven down the price of automobiles.”
