Senate Passes Kelly-Backed Bipartisan Resolution Designating Glioblastoma Awareness Day

Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) applauded the Senate passage of his resolution designating July 15 th , 2026, as Glioblastoma Awareness Day, honoring the more than 13,000 Americans who die from the disease each year, including Arizona’s own Senator John McCain. “I first came to the Senate to serve out the remainder of John McCain’s term, and his legacy has shaped how I think about public service every day. He fought glioblastoma with the same toughness and determination he brought to everything else,” said Kelly. “Every year, more than 13,000 Americans lose their lives to this disease. This resolution is for them and for everyone still in that fight today. We’re not going to stop pushing until we find better research and treatments.” In addition to Kelly, the resolution is cosponsored by Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), John Barrasso (R-WY), Tim Scott (R-SC), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Ed Markey (D-MA), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Chris Coons (D-DE), Ruben Gallego (D-AX) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH).
