Cassidy Secures $150M for I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge, Celebrates Groundbreaking

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released a statement following the groundbreaking ceremony for the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Cassidy’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) provided $150 million in funding for replacing the bridge . “This new bridge means more jobs and safer roads for Lake Charles,” said Dr. Cassidy. “It is great to see the $150 million I secured for this much-needed project in action.” The new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge will improve public safety by providing a wider roadway for commuters with six lanes in total, shoulders and central barriers, updated interchanges, lower inclines, and increased overhead clearance. ###
