Congresswoman Foushee Votes Against Partisan Government Funding Bill
WASHINGTON, DC (March 11, 2025) — Today, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (NC-04) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 1968, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025. “Today, I joined my House Democratic colleagues in standing up for working people, veterans, children, families, seniors, farmers, and small businesses, and voted against the partisan Republican government funding bill. “This harmful legislation slashes funding for healthcare, veterans benefits, housing assistance, nutritional programs, public schools, and community safety, and with everyday costs on the rise, the American people cannot afford these cuts to the vital programs and services they depend on each day. Furthermore, this partisan bill represents a dangerous power grab, granting President Trump and Elon Musk unchecked authority to continue their illegal impoundments and freezes of investments allocated by Congress, and gives Musk and DOGE unrestricted control to continue dismantling critical federal agencies like USAID, the Consumer Financial Protections Bureau, and many others. “As Republicans continue to give into Trump’s and Musk’s demands and push their extreme and reckless agenda, I will always put the people first and continue to prioritize the health, needs, safety, and well-being of my constituents.” Print Email Share Tweet
