Senator Justice Receives Champion of Honor Award at National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation Reception
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Senator Jim Justice visited the National Archives Museum to speak alongside Medal of Honor Museum Foundation board members and Medal of Honor recipients, highlighting the work they have done to establish a National Medal of Honor Monument in Washington, DC. “We owe a debt to our Medal of Honor recipients that can never be fully repaid, but we can ensure their stories are etched into our nation forever. Championing the National Medal of Honor Monument alongside the Medal of Honor Museum has been one of my greatest honors. I’m incredibly humbled to receive their first-ever Champion of Honor award. I’ll cherish it and the work we’ve done forever,” said Senator Jim Justice . “We could not have asked for a better champion in the United States Senate than Senator Justice. He truly went above and beyond, working with colleagues on both sides of the political aisle to ensure our country’s greatest heroes are recognized on the National Mall. Awarding him our very first Champion of Honor award is the least we can do to say thank you from all those who support this historic project,” said Cory Crowley, Executive Vice President and Acting CEO of the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation . “A huge thank you to Senator Justice for his dedication to patriotism and ensuring the values of the Medal of Honor are shared with future generations through this monument. In a country that often seems so divided, Senator Justice is a unifying force not just in the Senate, but as an example for the entire country to focus on the things that unite us and be proud of who we are as Americans,” said Medal of Honor Recipient General Patrick Brady . BACKGROUND: Senator Justice’s first introduced bill was the Hershel “Woody” Williams National Medal of Honor Monument Location Act . The bill passed unanimously in the Senate on March 25, 2026. Senator Justice received the Foundation’s first Champion of Honor award for his work to pass the Act in the Senate.
