Cassidy, Republicans Introduce BACK the BLUE ACT

WASHINGTON –U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) and a group of Senate Republican colleagues introduced theBack the Blue Actto increase penalties for criminals who target law enforcement officers and provide new tools for officers to protect themselves. In October, Iberville Parish Deputy Charles Riley was killed, and Captain Brett Stassi Jr. was injured in a tragic shooting.
“Americans in Blue deserve our support. Let’s do everything we can to protect Louisiana’s law enforcement from violent criminals and targeted attacks,”said Dr. Cassidy.
