Kennedy announces $18.9 million in Hurricanes Ida, Francine aid for Lafourche, Jefferson and Terrebonne Parishes, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development

WASHINGTON – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $18,928,243 in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants for Louisiana disaster recovery efforts and repairs in Louisiana communities impacted by Hurricanes Ida and Francine. Louisianians are tough as nails and want to see our state recover from severe storm damage. This $18.9 million will support Lafourche, Jefferson and Terrebonne Parishes and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development make repairs and remove debris from Hurricanes Ida and Francine,” said Kennedy. The FEMA aid will fund the following: $8,848,904 to the Greater Lafourche Port Commission for permanent repairs as a result of Hurricane Ida. $5,325,561 to Jefferson Parish for management costs as a result of Hurricane Ida. $2,555,432 to Terrebonne Parish Public Assistance Alternative Procedures Debris Removal operations as a result of Hurricane Francine. $2,198,346 to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for Public Assistance Alternative Procedures Debris Removal operations as a result of Hurricane Francine.
