Sen. Ossoff Working Across the Aisle to Upgrade Rural Water Infrastructure

Washington, D.C.— U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to upgrade rural water infrastructure in Georgia.
Sen. Ossoff is cosponsoring the bipartisanRural Water System Disaster Preparedness and Assistance Actto improve water infrastructure systems across rural Georgia.
The bill, introduced by Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), would establish a grant program for rural communities to prepare for and respond to emergencies that could impact vulnerable water infrastructure.
“There is no worse nightmare for any family than not having access to clean water,”Sen. Ossoff said.“That’s why I am working with Republicans and Democrats to help rural communities in Georgia and across the Nation upgrade their water infrastructure.”
Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen Georgia’s water infrastructure.
In January, Sen. Ossoffdelivered$24.8 million in Federal resources for critical water infrastructure upgrades in the cities of East Point and Atlanta.
Last June, Sen. OssoffdeliveredFederal funding to help the City of College Park install a new water storage tank and booster system, which will ensure residents have access to reliable, clean drinking water, and accommodate economic growth in the city.
In 2022, Sen. Ossoffpassed into lawtheChattahoochee River Act, a first-of-its-kind law that authorizes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to work on water projects up and down the Chattahoochee River throughout the state of Georgia.
