At 29th Annual Summit, Rosen Highlights Bipartisan Commitment to Protect and Preserve Lake Tahoe
LAKE TAHOE, CA– Today, at the 29th annual Lake Tahoe Summit, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) delivered remarks reaffirming the importance of bipartisan collaboration in preserving and protecting Lake Tahoe. The Summit, hosted this year by U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA), brought together leaders from both California and Nevada, across party lines, to recommit to protecting this national treasure for generations to come.
“It’s always an honor to join Nevada and California leaders from both sides of the aisle every year at the Lake Tahoe Summit,”said Senator Rosen.“This event is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we put politics aside and work together to protect one of our nation’s most treasured natural wonders. I was proud to help reauthorize millions of dollars in funding to protect Lake Tahoe, and I’ll keep working in a bipartisan way to deliver for this local community.”
Senator Jacky Rosen has delivered key bipartisan wins to protect Lake Tahoe. In 2024, Senator Rosensecured $24 million in federal fundingto improve road safety and extend the Tahoe East Shore Trail, enhancing access while preserving water quality. She also helped pass the reauthorization of theLake Tahoe Restoration Act, securing $300 million over the next decade for wildfire mitigation, invasive species control, and watershed restoration. Senator Rosen has alsourgedfederal agencies to implement theEXPLORE Actin the Tahoe Basin to expand trails, improve recreation access, and support local communities.
