Amo Statement on Republican Plan to Dismantle the Department of Education

March 11, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) released the following statement: “A mandatory reduction in force at the Department of Education is a trojan horse to dismantling it entirely,” said Congressman Gabe Amo. “You can’t eliminate a federal agency created by Congress ‘half now/half later.’ I will fight against this decision that will cause learning loss, program cuts, lack of supports for students with disabilities, and disruption for students, educators, and school communities.”
