Ernst Cracks Down on Bureaucrats Collecting Multiple Paychecks
Bureaucrat busted for billing taxpayers for working more than 24 hours a day.
WASHINGTON – Continuing her work to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in Washington, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) is going after bureaucrats who are gaming the system by holding multiple taxpayer-funded government jobs at once without doing the work.
To shut down this blatant abuse, Ernst is introducing theDismantling Double Dippers Actthat requires a regular cross-check of federal employment rolls to catch bureaucrats who are cashing two paychecks.
“While hardworking Americans are pulling double shifts just to make ends meet, bureaucrats are pulling a fast one – double-dipping from the federal payroll without lifting a finger,”said Ernst. “I’m exposing these double-dealing bureaucrats, so the American people are not stuck footing the bill.”
She is alsocalling fora full review of the federal workforce, including a breakdown of who is working for every agency, where they’re located, and whether any individuals are collecting paychecks from multiple government agencies.
Some examples Ernst exposed of bureaucrats moonlighting for other agencies or government contractors:
