WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) today released a joint statement on Mississippi Supreme Court Justices Robert Chamberlin and James Maxwell, whose nominations to the Northern District of Mississippi were
considered
by the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday:
“We wholeheartedly support Justices Maxwell and Chamberlin’s nominations to the U.S. District Court.  President Trump chose these men for their qualifications and experience, which will serve them well on the federal bench.  Jimmy and Bobby have dedicated their lives to upholding the Constitution, defending the rule of law, and serving their Mississippi communities with distinction.  They are ready to assume these federal roles, and we look forward to their speedy confirmation both in committee and by the Senate.”
Wicker and Hyde-Smith introduced Maxwell and Chamberlin at their nomination hearing.  President Trump nominated them for U.S. District Court positions on August 12.
