Alsobrooks Votes No on Clarity Act

September 15, 2026 WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) released the following statement after voting against cloture on the CLARITY Act: “When I voted in May to advance the CLARITY Act out of the Banking Committee, I was clear that now is the time to regulate digital assets and protect consumers. I was also clear that I would not vote on the floor for a bill that doesn’t include clear ethics provisions to hold this President — and all future presidents and members of Congress — accountable. We were ready to strike a deal today and in discussions right up until the vote. Republican leadership shut it down at the very last minute after it became clear that we were on a path to a successful vote.
