Join me in fighting Trump’s attacks on science, education, & our communities! Trump wants to end merit-based review of federal grants & instead give political appointees unprecedented power. Submit a public comment on Trump’s hyper-partisan OMB proposal ASAP:

Last Friday, Mayor Avula and I met with Tobacco Free Kids advocates in Richmond to discuss keeping tobacco and nicotine products away from children. Their advocacy helped get my bipartisan bill to raise the tobacco age to 21 signed into law, and I'll keep working with them to protect public health.

This new facility will not only nearly double the number of detention beds, but is in a rural location, far from the organizations that offer resources and oversight. I will continue to push for necessary guardrails, critical reforms, and work towards preventing the opening of this facility.
- MB
We have seen a complete failure by the Trump Administration in operating ICE detention centers with any decency, accountability or transparency. I’m extremely disheartened they are taking the next step in setting up a new Colorado facility in Hudson.

The Trump administration is steering billions of dollars toward defense technologies. At the same time, the president’s sons are investing in the companies that stand to benefit. America's defense priorities should be driven by our national security, not the Trump family's bottom line.

Less than a month after declaring victory on this unnecessary war that the President started, we're right back to blockades and strikes on Iran. This President started this war without a strategy and has no strategy to end it. Gas prices are climbing, and Americans are paying the price.

The projected price tag of Trump’s illegal war of choice in Iran: $1 trillion Imagine what that money could do if we invested it in schools, housing, and health care instead of sending working-class kids to die.

Trump wants to shut down the government in September to force Senate Republicans to pass the SAVE Act, rig the midterm elections, and disenfranchise millions of American citizens. If the government shuts down in September, remember one man was cheerleading for that outcome all along: Donald Trump.

Thank you to all the first responders and firefighters putting themselves in harm’s way to combat the wildfires up near the Boundary Waters. Everyone in the area should listen to the guidance of state and local officials. Stay safe Minnesota!

In the last week, Ukraine has “sanctioned” roughly 100 shadow fleet ships carrying Russian oil. Shadow ships are burning; Russians are seeing gas lines and fistfights for fuel. Ukraine is winning.

Our rural communities are the engines of our economy. Great to be in Walsenburg to hear more about what Washington can do to help small businesses and towns across Colorado.

Minnesota has stood up for so many women by protecting access to reproductive healthcare. Rep. Morrison and I talked with Minnesotans about what’s at stake: health centers closing, women traveling further for care and paying more. When our rights are threatened, we don't wait. We take action.

He’s sued Michigan and 30+ states to get their voter rolls, is actively trying to keep people from voting by mail, and has spoken openly about taking over elections in states that oppose him. And now he is gutting the Election Assistance Commission, which simply helps states administer elections.

President Trump has repeatedly told us exactly what he plans to do and exactly what he thinks. If his side doesn’t win, the elections are rigged.

Corruption, chaos, and a culture of fear. More than 1,200 former DOJ employees warn that this the legacy of Todd Blanche’s tenure to date. I’m a NO on his nomination.

Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” has been law for over a year now, and it’s clear who won: rich people and big corporations who got a giant tax cut. They benefited while health care and food assistance were ripped away from millions of families across the country. Don’t forget that.

The President may think historic legislation isn't worth his time or attention, but despite his inaction the ROAD to Housing package is now law. Everyone should have a safe, affordable place to call home.

Vermont's farmers have experienced so much crop loss because of flooding. As we remember the July 2023 and 2024 floods, @sanders.senate.gov, @balint.house.gov, and I are reintroducing my bill that'll make it easier for farmers to protect their farmland from flooding. https://bit.ly/4ykvxRx

I don't believe that Donald Trump believes in much of anything. For him, religion is just one more tool in his toolbox to divide us.

After all, what says absolute loyalty like a giant picture of your face?

- AS
An 8-story-tall Trump certainly qualifies as propaganda and self-aggrandizement. It also demonstrates once again how much he identifies with other authoritarians he admires – with military parades and gold-plated makeovers of the White House.
images:2
- AS
Last year, I exposed more than $50,000 being spent on other giant Trump banners at other government buildings across D.C. Congress has long banned using federal funds for propaganda – and this self-aggrandizement is a clear violation of that law.
- AS
Donald Trump also spent more than $114,000 on banners at the FAA, with his name splashed across the bottom.

- AS
There’s now a new banner featuring Donald Trump and an “American First” slogan, which cost $39,000 to print and hang at the Department of the Interior.

- AS
NEW: I just uncovered more evidence that Donald Trump is spending hundreds of thousands of your tax dollars to print giant banners of his face and put them on government buildings. Not only a terrible waste of the hard-earned dollars of the American people, but also an illegal use of public funds.

The Syrian diaspora, anchored by a strong and successful community in Michigan, is ready to help lead that effort -- and that requires the full and speedy implementation of this decision.
- ES
In the meantime, the new Syrian government has demonstrated a willingness to fight terrorism. It's time to open a new chapter in the US-Syria relationship and to give Syrians a real chance at stability and economic development.
- ES
As I get back to DC, I want to welcome the announcement that the United States intends to remove Syria from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list. It's clear that this designation has been a roadblock to Syria's much-needed reconstruction and economic development — including from Syrian-Michiganders.

ICE is out of control. Putting them at polling places on Election Day is only going to invite more chaos and stop eligible Americans from voting. We need to pass my bill to stop that from happening.

I’ve heard from Minnesotans and local newspapers about how a new Trump mail delivery plan from the U.S. Postal Service will negatively impact them — making it slower and less reliable. That's your paycheck, Social Security benefits, medications and news. I'm urging the USPS to reverse this plan.

The President is trying to nationalize the elections to favor him and his party. And he won’t rule out sending the military to polling locations to interfere. I am fighting to stop that.

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is a historic win for families. It includes my bill to help communities modernize zoning laws and expand housing development. By assisting local governments to remove barriers and plan for growth, we can build more houses and lower costs.

I am stunned and saddened to hear the news this morning. Lindsey was a giant in the Senate. No one loved being a Senator more, or was more energetic. The Senate will be a lesser place without him. I’ve lost a dearly cherished friend.
