Your Michigan Moment of the day. Just the sound of the Bear River in Petoskey.

Earlier this week, I visited the Boeing plant in St. Louis to get a first look at the F-15EXs and KC-46s destined for Selfridge Air National Guard Base. In order to get the aircraft destined for Selfridge on time, we must increase production from 1-2 planes/month, so we walked through their plans.

Our Great Lakes are central to our way of life. Today in Petoskey, I joined MI LCV, @GreatLakesBusinessNetwork partners, Trout Unlimited & Northern MI conservation leaders to talk about Great Lakes Restoration Initiative & how it supports our water, fisheries, conservation, & MI's outdoor economy.

Here we go again. Just like the last time when the Trump Administration gave a sweetheart beef import deal to Argentina at the expense of American ranchers. Today’s action undercuts American ranchers, who are the best in the world at what they do. www.agriculture.com/cattle-group...

Tried fly fishing for the first time on the Bear River today with True North Trout. Michigan is known more for our lakes than our rivers, but Michiganders know there’s a ton of opportunity to explore, fish and paddle our incredible and varied rivers.

Freshening up my corn hole skills with the UAW at Black Lake. (Special thanks to my team for editing out all the other trash throws…)

It was great to be with @uaw.org members at Region 1-D Summer School at Black Lake this week. The UAW center here has a special and storied place in our history, dating back to 1970, where folks could gather, train, and bring their families — all to strengthen solidarity.

SK Siltron’s closure results in real pain, and that pain is felt by the entire Great Lakes Bay Region and especially those whose lives were upended.

President Trump again tweeted about me. This time it was a video of me talking about his administration's efforts to curb voting by mail. 🧵

Jeanine Pirro tried to criminally indict me, Senator Mark Kelly, and others. Now she’s on the receiving end of the president’s ire, because of the Reflecting Pool. If you lay down with lions, don’t be surprised if you become dinner.

The AME Church has been a pillar of faith, service, and community across Michigan. Holding the historic 140th Session of the Michigan Annual Conference in Pontiac — home to Newman AME, Oakland County’s first Black church — made it especially meaningful.

The President has made it clear through speeches, statements, official guidance, and continued legal action that he is seeking to use all possible tools to interfere with the midterms – including publicly lamenting that he did not send Federal forces to the polls in 2020.

Israel’s national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has once again made violent, dehumanizing comments about innocent civilians in Gaza. It is abhorrent and a shameful part of the Netanyahu government.

There have been hundreds of settler attacks this year in the West Bank, resulting in death and injuries -- including awful incidents this past weekend. Settlers have killed civilians, surrounded homes, burned down villages and mosques, and kept innocent civilians from food and water.

The uniformed military shouldn't be deployed to interfere in our elections. Period. The nonpartisan tradition of military service and the constitutional guardrails that prevent our military from becoming a domestic police force for one political party are essential to maintaining our democracy.

Opening Camp Grayling to collaborate with private industry means manufacturers, startups, and engineers – of all sizes — will get a direct line to the Army.

@peters.senate.gov and I are demanding answers and real leadership from Secretary Hegseth about the reportedly poor conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. The service members we send into harm's way deserve nothing less.

The people of Dearborn are once again under attack from an out-of-state influencer looking for controversy. Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud, the Police Chief, and religious leaders of all faiths are again showing leadership and demonstrating that Michigan is united against hate and Islamophobia.

President Trump is playing right into Kim Jong-Un's hands. Our alliance with South Korea is critical to U.S. security and announcing a decision to unilaterally scale back joint exercises, over social media, all while touting a "very good relationship" with Kim, is a gross miscalculation.

The USS Abraham Lincoln has been deployed for more than 250 days, including more than 200 consecutive days without a port call. Reports of exhaustion, food and water shortages, and serious mental health crises aboard the ship are deeply troubling.

Today I voted no on the confirmation of Todd Blanche to be Attorney General. Instead of standing up for the rule of law or demonstrating any sense of independence, Blanche has repeatedly chosen to go along with President Trump’s weaponization of the Justice Department.
