Happy Father's Day to all of the phenomenal fathers and father figures across Maryland. We are grateful to you. For those of us missing our fathers, today can bring both joy and longing. I'm remembering my dad with gratitude and love, and honoring the many ways in which he continues to inspire me.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there — especially to John. From Abigail's smallest days to now, he's never left her side. Dad of the year, every year. Abigail and I love you!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! More than anything, I love being a dad to my two boys and I’m so grateful to have their love and laughter in my life. I hope you get to spend this day with your loved ones, too.

Happy Father's Day to all the amazing dads out there! Today, I’m thinking about my dad, Al, who turns 92 this year, and recently celebrated 69 years of marriage to my mom, Kathleen. I am very thankful to have such an incredible dad and role model.

That didn’t last long. Iran first won the negotiations and then broke the deal. This “no respect” administration is pathetic.

John and I were honored to walk with Team Minnesota at tonight’s Special Olympics Opening Ceremony. We’re so excited to welcome all the athletes, families, and spectators to Minnesota. Good luck to the 3,000 athletes competing this week!

They're trying to kill women for having abortions and even using some types of birth control. I know, it sounds crazy—but that is exactly what this Republican bill coming out of North Carolina would legalize. WATCH ⬇️

Today we joined Coloradans in Denver’s Juneteenth parade! Let’s keep fighting together.

This was a taxpayer-funded slush fund to reward Trump loyalists, including Tina Peters. If it's truly dead, rescind it. Put it in writing. The rule of law demands more than empty assurances.

Trump's DOJ wants judges to take their word that the $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund is dead. That's not good enough.

Small businesses are the backbone of New Mexico’s economy. Yesterday, I met with Councilor Nichole Rogers, the New Mexico Black Chamber of Commerce, and Black business leaders to hear directly how I can support them as their businesses grow and thrive.

If the Trump admin won't use U.S. leverage, then Congress must pass mine & @sarajacobs.house.gov bill to stop arms sales to the UAE until they cease arming the genocidal RSF. [2/2]

In October, the RSF massacred over 6,000 people in 3 days in El Fasher, Sudan. Now, in the RSF’s assault on al-Obeid, 500,000 civilians risk falling victim to that same brutality. We are not powerless to stop this. [1/2]

Still laughing at the celebrity roster at Obama Presidential Library, as Trump gets Kid Rock. Cracks me up.

Costs are up under Trump this Father’s Day. Electric shaver? +30.2% Grill brush? +22.1% Electric griddle? +16.2% Your dad deserves better than this.

Part of how we love our country is telling the truth about our story. America's story is one of extraordinary progress and painful injustice. We dishonor both when we pretend only one is true.

Yesterday, I kept my Juneteenth celebration going with a stop at the Detroit People’s Food Co-Op. They were having a fair to support local vendors, enjoy great food, and connect with neighbors in a space built by the community, for the community.

Fox News: Adam Schiff points out how far $1 TRILLION would go to help Americans afford the cost of living if tax shelters didn’t allow it all to go to one person. Me: Yup.

Another telling “slush fund” pleading by MAGA DOJ: they refuse to commit in court to Blanche’s promise not to pursue it. Funny how often in Trumpland stuff they say vanishes once they’re under oath. Lying is fine and dandy until then. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

In the 2 weeks since Republicans voted down my amendments to ban this slush fund, Trump & Blanche have refused to say it’s dead — including, now, where it matters most: in court. Until it’s shut down, we must keep fighting to stop this $1.8 BILLION taxpayer-funded slush fund.

Inflation is at a 3-year high while Trump’s polls are at an all-time low in his second term. Americans are sick and tired of this Administration’s broken promises.

In 2022, workers at the Apple Store in Towson made history as the first to unionize their store. Now, Apple is closing the store & the workers of IAM Local 4538 have gone to the NLRB over unfair labor practices. Apple is worth $4.3+ TRILLION. They can afford to do better, they chose not to.

No better way to spend Juneteenth than at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. The exhibits tell the story of African-American history through time and the very specific role Detroit plays in that history. If you haven’t been in a while, schedule a visit. It was hopping!

I tried to permanently stop Donald Trump from paying out his friends with your tax dollars — but Senate Republicans blocked all three of my attempts. They’re signing off on Trump’s corruption, plain and simple.

Why not answer? A “fraud on the court” allegation is particularly severe, even for a MAGA DOJ regularly called out for pretextual legal arguments, misleading factual statements, professional misconduct and even suggestions of contempt. Its silence is deafening.
- SW
Trump’s personal lawyers (who offered a terse answer) are in no position to opine on DOJ internal policies, have no access to internal client defense memos from the IRS, setting aside the takes-two-to-tango nature of “collusion.” DOJ was not ordered to answer, but spurned a plain invitation.
- SW
Add the telling failure of this MAGA DOJ to reply to a first-ever “fraud on the court” allegation. The court expressed interest in DOJ’s IRS defense memo and in possible violation of DOJ policies and in “collusion” (which takes two), all implicating DOJ. Yet no response.
- SW
It is worth reading, particularly as it lays out methods and remedies available to the court.

Late yesterday, the court posted the attached reply of the challenger judges on Trump and MAGA DOJ committing “fraud on the court” in their rotten slush fund/tax amnesty “settlement.” 🧵 storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

This World Refugee Day is a call to action. Refugees have the right to live free from persecution and violence, and the United States should recommit to providing protection and opportunity to those who have been thoroughly vetted and are in need of refuge.

Republicans in Washington are spending $70 billion MORE on ICE while so many across this country can’t even afford to put food on the table. We don’t suffer from a poverty of resources in this country. We suffer from a lack of moral imagination.

Congratulations to Chef Adrian Torres who won the 2026 James Beard Award for Emerging Chef. Adrian is a proud DACA recipient & one of the many brilliant young immigrants who make our nation great. Congress must pass the Dream Act so people like Chef Adrian can finally have a pathway to citizenship.

Lynn Bartels was a force in any newsroom. Colorado will miss her inspired and intrepid voice and her sharp wit. Susan, the girls, and I send our love to Lynn’s family with gratitude for her great service to journalism and to our state.

Lynn Bartels was a one-of-a-kind person. That’s not a cliche she would have tolerated in a story, but it’s the truth about her. She had a knack for breaking big stories, asking smart questions, and holding all of us accountable. (1/2)

I joined the Juneteenth celebration in Rondo to celebrate the end of slavery and honor a neighborhood whose history reflects both the challenges we've faced and the progress we've made. With voting rights still under attack it is a reminder that the fight for justice never ends.
