Today I voted against confirming Markwayne Mullin as DHS Secretary. Since this administration took office, we’ve seen from DHS reckless enforcement actions, due process violations, and a pattern of conduct and violence that has shaken public trust in the agency.
- AA
Both Kristi Noem and Markwayne Mullin share the one qualification Republicans value most: loyalty to the President over the law. Mullin would continue the same failures. That’s why I voted no — and why I won’t support another penny for ICE without real reform.
- AK
I voted NO on Senator Mullin for DHS Secretary. The failures at DHS run far deeper than who holds the title of Secretary. Trump and his cronies continue to show no intention of ending the lawlessness we’ve seen in our streets and we must demand better.
- RB
ICE at airports is just the latest tactic in Trump’s campaign of unchecked cruelty. We must continue to shine a spotlight on ICE’s tremendous abuses of power, which is why I am hosting a forum tomorrow to bear witness to the stories of children brutalized by DHS agents.
- TB
The President said he didn't have the money to lower millions of Americans' health care costs, but he has spent upwards of $30 billion on an illegal war.
- RD
I voted no on Markwayne Mullin’s nomination to be DHS Secretary. I will not vote to install another yes-man to enable Donald Trump.
- JS
I do not have confidence that Senator Mullin has the willingness or vision to undertake urgently-needed reforms at the Department of Homeland Security to rebuild trust following Secretary Noem’s disastrous tenure. My full statement on tonight's vote:

I’m thrilled that after years of hard work, Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project, the largest commercial-scale offshore wind project in the U.S., is producing clean, reliable energy. I’m proud to support VA’s leadership in the clean energy economy.
- PW
I just voted against confirming Markwayne Mullin as the next DHS Secretary.
- PM
I voted NO on Senator Mullin's nomination to lead DHS. We need a Secretary who can clean up the mess that Noem left, rein in the out-of-control masked federal agents, and focus on real accountability & transparency. That's not Mullin.

ICE is already at our airports. Bringing heartbreaking scenes like this to an already chaotic environment. And now Tom Homan and Donald Trump want them at every airport across America.

- KG
Enough of this chaos. ICE Agents are not trained or certified in aviation security. Senate Democrats have tried to pay our hardworking TSA workers multiple times, and Senate Republicans have blocked it. Trump needs to stop playing politics and tell Republicans to fund TSA.

- JH
Isn’t Trump supposed to be some legendary dealmaker? He’s now saying that he doesn’t want to pay TSA workers until MAGA Republicans somehow pass an impossible bill to make it harder for millions of Americans to vote. How does that make sense?

The American Dream of owning a home shouldn't be out of reach. That’s why I worked to pass legislation in the Senate that will help build more homes, lower costs, and limit corporate homebuying while families struggle to find an affordable place to live. fillmorecountyjournal.com/klobuchar-st...

11 times Democrats have tried to open TSA, FEMA, CISA, and the Coast Guard. Republicans blocked it every time. We must fund these agencies while we negotiate commonsense reforms to ICE.

Today marks 16 years of the Affordable Care Act — a landmark expansion of health care for millions of Americans. Since then, Republicans and Trump have waged war on health care. Their Big Ugly Bill jacked up costs and will kick millions off of their plans. Indeed, it already has.

Minutes matter in a medical emergency. Rural Arizonans deserve the same access to care as anyone else – and I’m gonna keep fighting until they get it.

Assistant principals set the tone for schools, cultivating a positive learning atmosphere for students while providing essential support to staff. Their work deserves recognition, which is why I introduced a resolution to declare the week of April 6 as National Assistant Principals Week.
- MW
Democrats have been blocked from passing funding for DHS agencies 7 times. Trump needs to stop playing partisan games at the expense of federal workers and the safety and convenience of Americans. It’s past time to fund TSA and other DHS agencies and implement common sense reforms to ICE and CBP.
- EM
Trump calls it “The Art of the Deal.” Billionaires get tax breaks while working families and small businesses get higher costs, weaker health care, and more instability. This isn’t a deal—it’s a ripoff.

When I said there was a coordinated effort by Republicans in Washington to undermine access to the ballot, I meant it.

Jeff Bezos, worth $233 billion, wants to raise $100 billion to replace factory workers with robots. That’s a declaration of war against the working class. He must explain to the American people what happens when millions lose their jobs. How will they survive?

16 years ago, the Affordable Care Act became law. Since then, tens of millions of Americans have gained affordable health care, even while Republicans constantly try to repeal it, gut it, or weaken it. I'm not backing down from the fight to protect the ACA and reverse the GOP’s health care cuts.

The Supreme Court heard argument today on a key elections case out of Mississippi and the Republican majority on the Court seem ready to make voting by mail much more difficult. You'll want to hear this:

Pres. Trump basically confessed on social media that he’ll continue denying paychecks for federal workers & forcing long lines at airports unless Congress enacts his unconstitutional so-called SAVE Act that gives Trump unprecedented control over U.S. elections.

On Saturday, average gas prices surged to $3.93 a gallon—nearly a dollar higher than right before Trump’s Iran strikes. Whether you’re going to the grocery store, work, or your kid’s day care, Trump’s war is costing you money.

We need to reverse the cuts and finish the work the ACA started by truly delivering universal healthcare for all Americans. 2/2

16 years ago, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law, expanding access to healthcare for tens of millions of uninsured Americans. Today, families across NJ are struggling to afford the coverage they once could under the ACA because of Republican cuts. 1/2

A month ago, the national price of gasoline as $2.93 a gallon. Today it's $3.94. One man is to blame: Donald Trump.

ICE must change its violent ways. The last thing Americans want is ICE detaining passengers at airports and making things worse. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best: Fund TSA, rein in ICE, and move our country in the right direction.
- TB
Fast forward 16 years, and Republicans still don't have a health care plan to make costs more affordable for families. The ACA’s future remains unclear, but what is clear is that I will never stop fighting to make sure Americans can get accessible, affordable health care. (5/5)
- TB
This past year, Donald Trump and Republicans did some serious damage, ripped away tax breaks for families, and raised costs on over 20 million Americans. Folks shouldn’t have to get a 2nd or 3rd job, come out of retirement, or go bankrupt just to afford health care. (4/5)

Sadly, this wasn’t the end of Republican efforts to make health care more expensive for Americans. In fact, Republicans’ whole health care plan for years has just been repealing the Affordable Care Act – without any real plan to replace it. (3/5)

In 2010, after Republicans fought us every step of the way, we successfully got the bill signed into law, delivering affordable health care to millions of families across America while ensuring people with pre-existing conditions were not cut out of care. (2/5)

Because of my childhood illness, I was forever labeled as having a “pre-existing condition,” allowing insurance companies to deny covering me. It spurred my desire to work in public service; that’s why I was so proud to write the Affordable Care Act to change this. (1/5)

The Affordable Care Act turns 16 today! 🎂 This anniversary always hits differently for me. After my childhood illness left me with nowhere to get insurance, it inspired me to help write the Affordable Care Act. A thread on how we got the law passed and what its future holds.🧵

ICE and Border Patrol already have a larger budget than the marines. But Senate Republicans are making you wait for hours at the airport to give them even more money to wage their terror campaign.

ICE isn’t the president's personal enforcement arm. Over the weekend, we voted to pay TSA workers for the TENTH time. Republicans blocked it again. End the chaos.

I have a simple bill to pay TSA agents while we negotiate ICE reforms – and Senate Republicans have blocked EVERY attempt to pass it. I’m headed to the Senate floor soon to try yet again. Are Senate Republicans too scared of Donald Trump to do the right thing and let TSA agents get paychecks?

Trump’s response to being asked about Iran is “I may have a plan or I may not.” Servicemembers’ lives are being risked in Trump’s war of choice. They and their families deserve concrete answers from their Commander-in-Chief on the goals and objectives of this conflict.

16 years ago, the Affordable Care Act became law. Despite Republicans' repeated attempts to weaken that historic bill, the ACA has literally saved millions of lives by helping Americans afford comprehensive health care.

Federal workers deserve their paychecks. Travelers deserve functioning airports. Americans should not be pawns in the President’s political games.

Democrats have tried to fund TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard 7 times. Republicans have blocked these attempts at every turn. President Trump is holding critical safety agencies hostage to push through a voter suppression bill and shield a lawless ICE operation from accountability.
