Sens. Ossoff & Rev. Warnock, Reps. Williams & McBath Upgrading Stormwater Infrastructure in East Point

Sens. Ossoff & Rev. Warnock, Reps. Williams & McBath Upgrading Stormwater Infrastructure in East Point May 8, 2026 East Point, Ga. — U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock, alongside Congresswomen Nikema Williams (GA-05) and Lucy McBath (GA-06), are delivering resources to upgrade stormwater infrastructure in East Point. Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock and Reps. Williams and McBath brought Republicans and Democrats in Congress together to deliver Federal funding for key stormwater infrastructure upgrades along Norman Berry Drive in East Point, including a storm water main replacement and headwall restoration to improve stormwater flows and prevent sink holes in the area. Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock and Reps. Williams and McBath are delivering $1,092,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23. “Every town in Georgia deserves safe, effective water infrastructure,” said Sen. Ossoff. “That’s why we bought Republicans and Democrats together to upgrade stormwater infrastructure in East Point.” “Safe and clean water infrastructure is something that every thriving community needs,” said Senator Warnock. “I am proud to work alongside my Georgia colleagues to bring these federal funds to Georgia.” Congresswoman Nikema Williams said: “Securing clean, safe, and dependable water infrastructure for the families of East Point is just one way we can deliver the most basic of needs for Georgians. I’m proud to join my Georgia colleagues in bringing $1,092,000 back to the people of East Point.” “Failing stormwater infrastructure isn’t just an eyesore–it can cause serious safety hazards and streetflooding,” McBath said. “Working together, my colleagues and I helped to bring needed federal investments to repair storm lines in our community. This funding will reduce flooding concerns and keep our community clean.” “This is another step forward made possible by strong partnership and shared vision. The City of East Point recognizes the leadership of Senator Ossoff and Senator Warnock, along with Congresswoman Williams and Congresswoman McBath, in advancing critical infrastructure improvements in our city. This $1.09 million investment in the Norman Berry Drive Stormwater Improvement Project strengthens our infrastructure and supports a more resilient, forward-looking East Point, and we recognize our Water and Sewer Department, led by Director of Water Resources Melissa Echevaria and her team, who will deliver these improvements for our residents, businesses, and visitors,” said Mayor Keisha Chapman of East Point. # # # Prev Previous Sen.
