Carey Statement on Vote to Prevent Government Shutdown
WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Carey (R-Ohio-15), a member of the House Ways and Means and Budget Committees, released the following statement following his vote to pass the continuing resolution (CR) that will fund the government through September 30, 2025: “Today, I was proud to vote to prevent a costly government shutdown. By passing this funding measure, we ensure the government will continue delivering on its obligations to pay our troops and deliver critical services that Americans expect without any disruption,” Rep. Carey said. “This measure gives Congress a larger window to work to extend tax cuts for workers and families, unleash American energy, and enshrine border security into law. I encourage my colleagues in the Senate to pass this as well.” # # #
