Murphy Applauds Passage of FY27 Military Construction & Veteran Affairs Appropriations
May 15, 2026 Press Release Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., applauds the passage of H.R. 8469, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act , 2027, legislation to support our national defense and infrastructure, enhance veteran care, and improve quality of life for military families. NC-03 Community Project Funding Win $24.1 million for the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Operational Facilities project at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune Background Background Provides a total of $469.49 billion in overall funding, an increase above the FY26 enacted level. Fully funds veterans’ medical care at $138.2 billion, equal to the President’s FY27 Budget Request, ensuring veterans receive the care and benefits they have earned. Provides $19.2 billion for the Department of War military construction and family housing to make critical investments in military infrastructure, housing, and childcare to support service members and their families. Provides $352.93 million for related agencies, including the American Battle Monument Commission, Arlington National Cemetery, and Armed Forces Retirement. Protects veterans’ 2nd Amendment rights by preventing the VA from sending veterans’ information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation without a judge’s consent. Fully funds the Community Care account, which empowers veterans to seek specialty care to meet their unique needs. Invests over $2 billion in capital improvements for VA medical facilities and four national cemeteries.
