Senator Andy Kim Statement on Release of Remaining Israeli Hostages
WASHINGTON D.C. –Today,Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ)released the following statement on the release of the remaining twenty hostages held captive since Hamas’s horrific terrorist attack on October 7th, 2023:
“Today is a day we’ve been waiting for — to celebrate the return of the remaining living hostages who have been held captive since the brutal terror attacks of 10/7, and to mark what is hopefully the beginning of a lasting durable peace. Today is also a day of promise where opportunity shapes a new possibility where Israeli and Palestinian children can grow up free of fear and violence.“Realizing that promise will take work; it is not a given. It will take work to help the Palestinian people recover from the violence and empower them to rebuild Gaza without Hamas’ rule. And it will take work to ensure that the Israeli people never again endure the horrors of October 7th. It will take work to forge a real and meaningful path towards a two-state solution.“The United States must stand committed to doing that work, and I am committed to working with President Trump and my colleagues in Congress to bring this promise of peace to life.”
