Husted secures critical funding for John Glenn Columbus International Airport
“This funding will help modernize the airport and improve the travel experience in Central Ohio. I was proud to work with my colleagues on this bipartisan effort and will always advocate for investments that make life better and easier for Ohioans.”
WASHINGTON – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) today announced that the Department of Transportation (DOT) will invest more than $10 million in improvements to John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH). This funding will be used to install 12 new passenger boarding bridges and help modernize the airport.
This announcement comes after Husted joined Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) and Reps. Mike Carey (R-Ohio), Troy Balderson (R-Ohio), Dave Taylor (R-Ohio) and Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio) in writing to DOT Secretary Sean Duffy encouraging the department to support CMH’s application for funding through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Terminal Program.
“CMH is a key hub for Ohio families, workers and businesses, with more than 130 flights each day. This funding will help modernize the airport and improve the travel experience in Central Ohio. I was proud to work with my colleagues on this bipartisan effort and will always advocate for investments that make life better and easier for Ohioans,”
said Husted.
“I am pleased to see the Department of Transportation awarding $10 million in funding for new jet bridges at CMH. Replacing aging infrastructure at the airport will lead to more efficient air travel for Central Ohioans. Investments like this make a real difference in our community, and I’m excited to see this project move forward,”
said Carey.
Central Ohio depends on CMH to provide a broad range of affordable consumer choices for air travel to nearly half of the state’s counties.
