Hearing from Ohioans about what matters to them

Dear friends and neighbors, Whether it’s meeting with Ohioans face-to-face or hearing from them through telephone town halls, constituent service remains my top priority as one of Ohio’s U.S. Senators. One of the best ways for me to hear directly about the issues Ohioans care about is through telephone town halls. Recently, I connected with Ohioans from the northeastern part of our state to hear about their priorities. We discussed a range of topics, including how we can prevent fraud and how my office can be a resource for Ohioans. I spoke with John, a veteran from Brunswick, who is experiencing difficulties with his VA health care claim. I want Ohioans to know that my casework team in Columbus is ready to assist with federal agencies, veterans’ issues, or any other needs you may have. You can fill out a form here or call the office at (614) 369-4925. I connected with around 200,000 Ohioans to hear what matters to them. On the call, Ohioans said they want to see action to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse. I agree. That’s why I’m working with my colleagues to root out fraud across our federal systems. Recently, I joined the Protecting American Taxpayers Act, which helps stop fraud before it happens, returns stolen taxpayer dollars, and holds bad actors accountable. This legislation includes my Preventing Deep Fake Scams Act, which cracks down on identity theft and fraud driven by artificial intelligence. Since these telephone town hall listeners were from the northeastern part of our state, I thought it could be fun to ask them their opinions on the Cleveland Browns’ performance in the 2026 NFL Draft. Here’s what they had to say: I also asked listeners their thoughts on making life more affordable. These were the results: I supported the Working Families Tax Cuts Acts to deliver relief to millions of working families while making it easier for parents to stay in the workforce. It includes provisions that put money back in the pockets of working families, encourage employers to offer on-site care and child care support, and support our seniors with a $6,000 tax deduction. We’re here to help Customer service is my top priority. My team and I have offices across Ohio to help our nearly 11.9 million neighbors. You can find the office locations here .
