March 11, 2025 Reschenthaler Statement on Funding the Federal Government and Increasing Servicemember Pay WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 1968 , Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025, which funds the federal government through Fiscal Year 2025: “While Democrats tried to hurdle our federal government into a shutdown, House Republicans passed a clean continuing resolution that keeps the lights on and funds a historic pay raise for our nation’s junior enlisted servicemembers. This critical legislation is paramount in our effort to institute President Trump’s America First agenda and continue rooting out waste, corruption, and abuse. I urge the Senate to pass this bill immediately to ensure no delay in protecting our nation and its citizens.” Specifically, this legislation: Funds the federal government through the end of Fiscal Year 2025. Fully funds veterans’ healthcare services and benefits. Enacts the largest pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers, a 14.5 percent increase, in over 40 years. Prevents disruptions for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid recipients. Increases WIC funding by $500 million to $7.6 billion, as requested by the Trump Administration. Read the full bill here .
