Hoeven Statement on the Anniversary of September 11 Terrorist Attacks

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee, today released the following statement marking the 23rdanniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
“As more than two decades have passed since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, we must never forget the tragic events that took place that day. We look back and remember the horrific attacks against our nation, mourn the lives lost, honor the victims’ memory and express our deep gratitude to the first responders for their courage in the midst of this terrible tragedy. We will never forget the sacrifices made, both that day and in the years that followed, as the incredible men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces answered the call to defend our great nation in the War on Terror. We know the cost of our freedom and security, and we must remember it always.”
