Rosen Announces New Firefighting Vehicles She Helped Secure for Harry Reid International Airport

LAS VEGAS  NV –Today in Las Vegas, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) visited Harry Reid International Airport to unveil two new airport firefighting vehicles that she helpedsecurethrough the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Senator Rosen joined Clark County Fire Chief Billy Samuels and Clark County Director of Aviation Rosemary Vassiliadis in making the announcement.
“Harry Reid International Airport is the beating heart of Nevada’s travel and tourism economy, which is why I’ve made it a priority to work across party lines to deliver the resources it needs,”said Senator Rosen.“I am so proud to announce yet another new investment in the safety of the airport, its passengers, and its infrastructure with the arrival of two brand-new Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles. These vehicles will help maintain Harry Reid International Airport’s incredible safety record and improve passenger experience. I’ll never stop working in a bipartisan way to bring federal investments to Nevada.”
Senator Rosen has worked to ensure Nevada’s airports receive their fair share of federal funding. As a lead author of the airports section of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Senator Rosen helpedcreatethe Airport Terminal Program to expand and rebuild airport terminals, which has already delivered$31 millionfor Harry Reid International Airport and$7 millionfor Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Last year, she helped secure a$27 milliongrant for overall infrastructure improvements at Harry Reid International Airport. Senator Rosen alsosecured fundingfor clean transportation at Harry Reid International Airport, allowing the airport to acquire more zero-emissions vehicles.
