Cassidy Calls for Action to MAKE Health CARE Affordable
WASHINGTON –U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) delivered remarks on the U.S. Senate floor calling on Congress to work together to address the real issues driving up health care costs for the American people. Specifically, Cassidy criticized the Enhanced Premium Tax Credits, which funnel billions of taxpayer dollars to giant insurance companies with no incentive to lower the cost of health premiums.
President Trump has repeatedlycalled onCongress to end these subsidies that pad the profits of insurance companies, and instead give these resources directly to patients. Cassidy proposed an idea aligned with President Trump’s mission to empower patients to manage their own health care dollars and decisions.
“I absolutely agree with President Trump that we need to redirect the subsidies from insurance companies and give patients the power,”said Dr. Cassidy.“That’s exactly what my Pre-Funded Flexible Spending Accounts do. As a doctor, I want my patients to have the power.”Clickhereto watch Cassidy’s full speech.
